Mindfulness
Mindfulness is the practice of being aware, in the present moment, without judgment. The practice of noticing and being curious about our thoughts and feelings can help develop insight into our behavior. This insight helps us develop awareness and can lead to changes that support our goals and enhance our relationships with others and ourselves. You can learn more here.
What to Expect
Mindfulness encompasses much more than meditation and mindfulness practice can include breathing exercises, yoga, body scan, and sensory grounding techniques. During our work together, and especially if we are working on reprocessing trauma, you will learn and develop mindfulness techniques to help with self-awareness and emotion regulation. I often use meditation or breathing exercises at the end of session to help ground and calm clients before they go back to their busy lives. I will also share information and handouts on mindfulness and suggest practices you can add to your life.
Mindfulness can be helpful for:

Stress
