Massage Therapy
At Cactus Flower Healing we think you deserve to feel good. We know life can be hard and it’s not easy to find time for you. We also know that your healing journey does not stop in your therapist’s office.
Regular massage can loosen tight muscles, relieve tension, and bring a sense of peace and connectedness. Massage can also be an important part of your recovery. Recent studies have found that massage can reduce pain, tension, and anxiety and depression symptoms, and may provide some relief from somatic complaints related to trauma - headaches, digestive issues, fatigue, and insomnia. Trauma can disconnect us from our bodies - why would we want to stay in the place where we were hurt - but massage can help us get acquainted with ourselves and with what feels good.
What to Expect
Our massage therapists are trauma informed and aware of the importance of integrating therapy and body based healing for a more effective experience. Your safety and wellbeing are our top priority. You will be asked to disrobe to your level of comfort and covered with a sheet during the massage. The massage therapist will discuss any psychological or physical concerns and walk you through the process. If at any time you feel uncomfortable, please let your massage therapist know.
If you are a client of Cactus Flower Healing, your massage therapist and mental health therapist will coordinate your care and discuss any concerns, difficulties, or progress.
